This is kind of embarrassing to admit because it seems so obvious, but I want you to learn from my mistakes a lot faster than I did!
You see, when social media first really took off, I was running a business that could have truly thrived online. I was spending so much time on social media, I was downloading articles, subscribing to courses, following all the trends, and most importantly (or so I thought), posting like crazy.
I posted 3 times a day like the gurus told me.
I posted at ‘peak times’ just like the blogs instructed.
I logged in at every chance to make sure I didn’t miss a beat.
But one thing was missing – engagement from my audience.
I had very few likes or comments, and would have broken into an impromptu happy-dance if I ever had a post shared.
That’s when I realized that I was posting “stuff” for the sake of posting “stuff”, and it was killing my business.
