The Fascinating Benefits Of Dance To Pre-Walkers And Beyond

Have you ever considered introducing dance classes to children younger than 2 years? Most studio owners will recoil at the thought – it’s hard enough to keep the 3+ age group engaged each and every session, and what on earth would you DO with a pre-walker?

That’s exactly where today’s guest comes in – Christine Roberts is the founder of Nurturing Pathways®, a creative dance program providing comprehensive development for babies to four years.

Christine’s message that movement is the gateway for learning reaches over 1000 people every year, and she is here to chat with Clint about the benefits of music, movement and dance that reach far beyond the classroom

In today’s podcast

Christine and Clint have a fascinating chat about the youngest dancers around, and open up about

  • The early-childhood milestones that directly link to dance, movement and music when a child aged as young as 3 months has regular exposure to them
  • Ways that studio owners and teachers can keep their youngest dancers engaged in classes
  • Your ideal early childhood teacher checklist!
  • Her top tips in selecting the music and props that keep young dancers coming back for more

Plus loads more!

More about Nurturing Pathways®

Nurturing Pathways® was founded in 2001 by Christine Roberts who combined her passion for dance with brain development and early childhood.  After years of teaching dance and performing professionally, Christine wanted to turn her attention to the formative years that constitute a prime time for learning; infant up to school aged.

Initially founded to address the needs of infants in care giving environments the company expanded when the program was discovered by Pigeon Hearts in Tokyo, Japan.  Their interest in Nurturing Pathways® led to developing the Certification Program launched in 2004.  Training and certification by the founder occurs annually in Seattle, WA and continues to build a national and international group of instructors who teach the program at dance studios, community centers, health clubs, urban play spaces, day-cares, early intervention and parent education programs.

Nurturing Pathways® is now spreading the word with its creative dance program, Creative Play™ products, and workshops for educators that movement is a catalyst for organizing early cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Parents experience fun and pleasure dancing with their child and discover movement is the gateway for learning!

Nurturing Pathways® classes are offered throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico and now Australia.
